Girl Scout troop visits HSCC campus

We were delighted to have Girl Scouts from local troop 22331 visit our campus recently! The girls toured our no-kill shelter and learned about pet care and ownership, the pet overpopulation problem, and the importance of kindness to animals, among other things. They then enjoyed some interactive time with our resident exotics.

And the girls brought some goodies for us, too! Their troop generously donated some much-appreciated items that will directly benefit the animals under our care.

Education is an important part of our mission, and we particularly enjoy working with young people. When children learn about animals at a young age, it can help set the stage for a lifetime of kindness and compassion.
