My name is Oliver, and I was rescued from a hoarding situation. I experienced a lot of “firsts” when I came under the care of the HSCC, but over time I gradually learned how to cat, and now I’m a pro! Being in a safe, healthy environment allowed me to explore and develop in ways I never could before. It turns out that I’m sweet and goofy!
I enjoy human companionship and will seek out affection from friendly people. When I’m happy, I like to roll around on my sides and back. I love perching on high shelves to soak up the scenery! I can be talkative, and in my playful moments I sometimes get the zoomies. I love treats and canned food, and I’ll come running at the sound of a can opening or a treat bag shaking!
My adventurous and curious nature definitely worked to my benefit in helping me come out of my shell and learn about the world. I can still be leery of sudden movements and noises, because in my previous life those things could mean danger. But I’ve come sooo far since I was rescued; I’m a lovebug now and have eagerly built up my social skills and confidence level.
I enjoy the companionship of other affable cats and would do great with another mellow, friendly feline, but I prefer a home without children or dogs. I seek a calm, caring household where I can continue to blossom with the support of humans who love and cherish me.
