My name is Purrkins, and I’m a staff favorite here at the HSCC’s no-kill shelter! I was originally an owner surrender at Cobb County Animal Services, and I stayed there for several weeks before the HSCC pulled me. I was in rough shape at the time I was pulled, suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection and a great deal of stress. A few weeks of medical care and TLC fixed me right up, and that’s when my charming personality began to emerge 😊

The first thing that the people here noticed about me is that I’m a bit dog-like! I play fetch in my own special way, I’m highly motivated by treats, and I love to play with toy balls. One of the few things that’s known about my prior life is that I used to have a passive small dog companion, and sometimes it seems like I might miss that little buddy. But I’ve quickly adapted to life here at the HSCC, where I spend my days lounging with feline friends in a free-roam cat room.

I purr often, which is how I got my name. I also love to have my head scratched and rubbed. I have curly white eyebrow whiskers, a black button nose, and a persistently quizzical expression. I’m a delightful little dude who will be an excellent match for an experienced cat person or family!

If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please call 770-428-LOST (5678) to set up an appointment to come meet me! I have been neutered and microchipped and am up to date on all my vaccinations.
