My name is Lily, and if you follow the HSCC on Facebook, you might remember me from my very dramatic and perilous beginnings! You can read about my rescue and recovery here. Today I am happy and healthy, and I’m here to tell you all about my sassy self and what kind of cat I’ve turned out to be now that I don’t have to struggle to survive.
I am independent and spunky, but also sweet and affectionate. If I want hugs, I will stretch up on my back legs to reach for them. When I’m happy, my tail puffs up (weird, I know!). I am in love with toy balls — I chase them, throw them, pounce on them, bat them, and hold them. I also enjoy items like Turbo Scratchers. If you haven’t guessed yet, I am quite adept at keeping myself amused if given the proper tools!
I have an expressive face, with a cute little frown at times and an unusual cleft chin. I enjoy the company of humans, and I coexist fine with other easygoing cats and dogs. I do have ongoing nasal congestion, but it is easily managed with OTC medication, which I am accustomed to taking. I am also toothless, thanks to my earlier case of stomatitis that required a full-mouth extraction. But I eat dry kibble just fine, and I am not slowed down in any way by my lack of teeth. I would do fine in a home with older children, but no toddlers, please.
I am a sweet, special girl who has gone through so much trauma and emerged from the experience with my spirit intact. For the first time in my life I’ve had the chance to relax and blossom into the magnificent cat I was meant to be, and everyone who meets me falls in love with me. I’m ready for my forever home now, and my forever family! Might it be with you?
