My name is Amber, and my story has a rough beginning. When my previous owners decided they didn’t want me anymore, they put me into an open-top box, along with my four 3-week-old kittens, and drove us to the HSCC. Upon arrival, I was so terrified that I immediately jumped out of the box and ran off. The owners drove away with my babies still in the box, then stopped, dumped the box on the curb, and left. HSCC staff were able to get my kittens to safety, but it took them three days to capture me because I was so scared!
All of my babies were quickly adopted into loving homes, but I was traumatized from my past life and needed a bit more time to get my footings. The HSCC spayed me and has worked with me to help bring me out of my shell — and I’m pleased to report that I’m feeling pretty good about humans now and am ready for a REAL forever home!
I’m petite, and cute as a button. As you can see in my photos, I’m all about the “blep” — my tongue pokes out when I’m happy! I love to snuggle under blankets, and I cover myself up like a human with a bed comforter. I’m timid around strangers, but I seek attention and love from people I know. I’m not a lap cat, but I am affectionate and loving with human and feline friends, both of whom will enjoy receiving my random head butts!
I seek a calm, quiet household where I can feel secure with my family. I’d be a perfect companion for a person or family who’s experienced with cats, and I prefer a home without dogs or children.
If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please call 770-428-LOST (5678) to set up an appointment to come meet me! I have been spayed and microchipped and am up to date on all my vaccinations.
