Marley first came to us as a young, terrified new mom with her 1-day-old babies. She knew we were trying to help her as she navigated motherhood in a new setting, but coming from the scary outdoors where she had to fend for herself, she was extremely cautious toward humans. Once properly vetted her kittens were quickly adopted, but Marley was shy, and it took time for those willing to go at her pace to gain her trust.
HSCC staff became very fond of this sweet girl as her personality blossomed. She quickly learned that she LOVES being petted, and she’d drool when extremely happy. She made lots of friends in our free-roam cat rooms, never running out of head-butts for her fellow felines. But time after time, when visitors looking to adopt would come in, Marley’s shyness kept her perched up high — and far away from the possibility of a furever home.
Enter Marley’s new mom! For years Marley’s mom has wanted to adopt, but with work commitments she wasn’t responsibly able to welcome home a pet, until now! She visited with multiple adoptable cats at our no-kill shelter, but special girl Marley won her over. She understands the time it will take to truly earn Marley’s trust, but we have no doubt this tabby girl is going to live her best life in her new furever home.
Happy tails, Marley!
