When we first pulled Bonita from Cobb County Animal Services, she was fragile, emaciated, and in rough physical shape. With medical attention and lots of TLC, she blossomed into a gorgeous, sweet-natured kitty with an affectionate demeanor and a love for humans! She was transitioned from our no-kill shelter to the Java Cats Café Meowietta cat lounge, and it was there that she met her new family.
Bonita’s new mom has adopted from us before. In 2007, she adopted a cat named Jake from our shelter, and sadly, he passed away last year due to cancer. When she was ready to share her heart with another cat, she decided to adopt with us again because she appreciates what we do for the animals. She visited both our shelter and Java Cats and met several kitties, but when she met Bonita, she felt a real connection and could not stop thinking about her. When Adoption Day rolled around, Bonita walked right into her carrier and made herself comfortable, ready to embark on this exciting new chapter!
After Bonita settled in at home, her new mom sent us an update to let us know how it was going:
l am very happy with Bonita. She is doing fantastic. She follows [us] everywhere in the house for attention. She likes her Halloween toys that l bought for her. She’s doing amazing. She’s very happy and comfortable. l changed her name to Abra and when I call her by her new name, she looks at me. l think she likes the name.
We’re sure that Abra is going to be absolutely spoiled and cherished; we truly couldn’t have hoped for a better mom or home for her. We wish the beautiful Abra and her mom many happy years together!
