When Meadow’s new parents lost both of their beloved senior kitties just months apart, they weren’t sure when they’d be ready to adopt again. They took the time they needed to grieve, and when they felt that they were ready to open their home and their hearts to another fur baby, their search began.
Meadow’s new mom is a long-time volunteer at the HSCC, and her new dad had his heart set on a kitten, so when a large litter of kittens arrived at our no-kill shelter, they were open to the possibilities. Meadow’s new mom met the litter during one of her regular shifts, and she was drawn to Meadow. She immediately shared a photo with her husband, and they arranged for him to come meet her too.
Together they visited with the entire litter, and while they enjoyed interacting with a number of the babies, they both kept coming back to Meadow — they felt a solid connection with her and just knew she was the one. During the following week, while the HSCC finalized Meadow’s vaccinations and monitored her spay healing, her new parents went shopping. By the time Adoption Day rolled around, they had a kitty wonderland ready and waiting for Meadow at her forever home!
Meadow’s name is Iris now, and after a short transition period, she is loving her new life! She spends her days perching on cat trees, watching wildlife outside the windows, zooming around her new home, playing with toys, and snuggling with her new parents.
Iris has hit the jackpot, and we’re thrilled for her and her new family! Happy tails to all!
