Adopted: Tux

Tux was in the first batch of HSCC kitties to make the transition from our no-kill shelter to Java Cats Café in July 2018. When he first arrived at the Meowietta cat lounge, he immediately hid under a sofa — and stayed there for weeks! Long after the other lounge kitties had acclimated, he remained under the sofa, becoming somewhat of a lounge legend in the process. Staff and visitors were careful to give this shy and elusive boy his space and allow him to emerge in his own time. Eventually he did emerge, and it was a happy day! Once he was out and about in the lounge, comfortable in his new environment, his sweet personality was able to shine through.

Tux’s new person came to Java Cats in search of a feline companion who would mesh well with his work schedule, lifestyle, and home environment. He put a great deal of thought and care into the process of choosing the right cat for him, and in the end, he decided that Tux was the one!
