Romeo was originally adopted from the HSCC by a family when he was a kitten. About a year and a half later, this family called us and abruptly informed us that they wanted to return Romeo, who was currently outside in inclement weather. Of course we accepted him back with open arms; we will always accept any animal back who was adopted from us, no matter the reason or the amount of time that has passed.
When Romeo came back to us, he wasn’t the same. He had been a happy, cuddly, affectionate kitten, but when he returned to us, he was wary and cautious. We helped him to acclimate to a free-roam cat room at our no-kill shelter, and when the opportunity arose, we transitioned him to the Java Cats Café Meowietta cat lounge. He quickly became a lounge favorite, easily recognizable by his special meow, his freckled nose, and his occasionally grumpy personality.
Being at Java Cats gave Romeo the exposure he needed. He was featured on the Java Cats Instagram account multiple times, where he caught the eye of a young woman who thought he would be the perfect cat for her parents. She told her parents about Romeo and urged them to visit him at the Meowietta lounge, which they did, and the rest is history! This couple fell in love with him and are thrilled to provide him a forever home where he will be cherished for the rest of his life.
Congratulations to Romeo and his new family!
