Cyrus and Searge (now known as Simba) first came to us at just a few weeks of age. They had been found alone without their mother and weren’t yet weaned, so they required bottle-feeding and round-the-clock attention. The HSCC doesn’t have a formal foster program, but one of our longtime volunteers stepped up to the plate and offered to foster these two tiny boys in her home.
Under the guidance of HSCC staff, the volunteer made sure these kitties had everything they needed — she bottle-fed them, burped them, and helped them learn to use the litterbox. Before long, it became clear to all that a “foster failure” had occurred; our volunteer and her fiancé had fallen in love with these little guys and wanted to make them a permanent part of their family.
Cyrus and Simba will spend the rest of their lives together in a loving home with the pet parents who raised them, and we couldn’t be happier for them. Happy tails!
